I have what some might call an eclectic range of hobbies and interests, everything from steam trains to car racing, but most fall under the broad theme of transport and machinery. What truly underpins them, however, is my deep passion for sharing these interests with others and to entertain in the process.
A prime example of this is my volunteer radio show. Due to the demands of my job, I began producing a pre-recorded programme, which I themed around a growing curiosity in the mysterious and unexplained. This led to the creation of “Bob’s Mysterious Mysteries,” which debuted in January ‘25 and has aired every Wednesday at 9pm on Paisley Radio. Since its launch, the show has attracted around 300,000 listeners and consistently ranks in the top five most popular programmes on the station.
One of the most rewarding aspects of this project has been the audience interaction. Listeners regularly write in with suggestions; from a fan in Baltimore, Maryland proposing the theory that we live in a simulation, to a family in London sharing their love for the show and pitching the Avril Lavigne body double theory. These connections have made the experience especially fulfilling.
Another outlet for my enthusiasm is my YouTube channel, “Bob In N.” While I’ve been uploading videos since high school, it’s only in recent years that I’ve found my voice and begun producing more polished content. Several of my videos have received thousands of views, and those who know me personally often comment on the confidence and clarity of my voiceovers.
Examples of both my radio work and YouTube videos are available here, with full length examples available upon request.
